In our Bible series entitled ‘Equipped’ we have been considering the resources God has made available to each believer so that we are enabled to fulfil His calling and purpose for our lives.
But identifying that specific personal role is the priority for all.
When asked, ‘Who are you?’ John the Baptist replied, ‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord…’ (John 1:23 NKJV) After listening to John for a while, his disciples left him to follow Jesus lowest price levitra. And that was perfectly okay with John, because he knew what he had been called to do.
We could go along in our faith journey constantly ‘trying things.’ At some point we have to discover what God has called us to do, and give ourselves fully to it. When we do, God equips!
The Apostle Paul said, ‘I came to you in weakness—timid and trembling. And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit’ (I Corinthians 2: 3-4 NLT)
If Paul struggled as a public speaker, he more than compensated for it as a writer. He wrote the inspired word that enabled others to preach! Something so powerful was released through Paul’s writings. Even when they threw him in prison he asked for paper so that he could keep writing. He knew what His purpose was.
In fact, Paul wrote all the way to the end of his life. And because he did, lives are still being changed today.
What a legacy! And all because one man discovered his calling. and devoted himself to it. May we determine to discover ours.
